Giant Hawkfish or Hieroglyphic Hawkfish. To 62 cm (24.4 in) ( Jiménez Prado and Béarez 2004). Bahía Magdalena, southern Baja California ( Galván-Magaña et al. 2000) to northern Peru ( Robertson and Allen 2015), including Gulf of California (Bussing and Lavenberg in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos (Grove and Lavenberg 1975). Depth: intertidal to 30 m (98 ft) (min.: Weaver 1970; max.: Robertson and Allen 2008).
