Louvar. To 2 m (78.7 in) TL (Bauchot in Fischer et al. 1995). Circumglobal; Graham Island, Haida Gwaii, British Columbia ( Brooks et al. 2016) to Chile ( Miller and Lea 1972), including Gulf of California as far northward as Loreto (Shane Anderson, pers. comm. to M.L.). Epipelagic; depth: to 200 m (656 ft) ( Roberts et al. 2015).
