Smiling Sand Eel. To 54 cm (21.3 in) TL ( Robertson and Allen 2002). Costa Rica to Ecuador ( Robertson and Allen 2008) to southern tip of Baja California (McCosker and Rosenblatt in Fischer et al. 1995), including Islas Galápagos ( Grove and Lavenberg 1997) and other offshore islands ( Robertson and Allen 2002).
