Prickly Sculpin. To 19.2 cm (7.7 in) SL ( Coad 1995). Seward, Alaska (coast of northern Gulf of Alaska) to Ventura River, southern California ( Morrow 1980). Benthic, usually in fresh water, occasionally in estuaries and nearshore marine waters (Mecklenburg et al. 2002); depth: to 92 m (300 ft) ( Pietsch and Orr 2019).
