Paralimna sponsa Giordani Soika, 1956a: 492 View in CoL : Cogan 1968: 338–339 [revision]; Dawah & Abdullah 2006: 387 [ Saudi Arabia, as P. (P.) cf. sponsa Giordani Soika, 1956 View in CoL ].
Specimens examined. 1 ♂, Asir, Maraba , 1–31. v. 2004, Malaise trap, H.A. Dawah ( NMWC) .
Distribution. This is the first record from Saudi Arabia and Arabian Peninsula. It was described from Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, and further recorded from Angola and Uganda.
Remarks: The specimen examined runs to P. sponsa in Cogan’s 1968 key while the male fore femur has a line of distinct flattened, curved anteroventral setae that occupy half its length and the male external claspers resemble those of P. ustulata Wirth as figured (p. 320, fig. 60) by Cogan (1968).
