Toyoides albipennis Matsumura, 1935

Diagnosis. Recognized by body light green to yellowish brown; tegmina with anterior and posterior margins slightly infuscate; vertex without any markings; prosternum with one pair of blackish markings parallel ( Figs 1A– D ); tegmina almost straight ( Fig. 1B ); frons with median carinae forked below level of lower margin of eyes ( Fig. 1C ); pygofer without medioventral structures; aedeagus branched at medially, division without spinule (modified from Matsumura, 1935, Yang, 1989 and Ding, 2006).

Measurements (in mm). Female (n=1). Body length (including tegmina): 5.85; body length (excluding tegmina): 3.43; body width: 1.48; head length: 0.54; head width (including eyes): 0.91; first antennal segment length: 0.19; second antennal segment length: 0.40; vertex length: 0.41; vertex width (basal width): 0.38; frons length: 0.80; frons width: 0.38; pronotum length: 0.33; pronotum width: 1.08; mesonotum length: 0.68; mesonotum width: 1.04.

Material examined. [ SEHU] Lectotype: 1♀, Kanshirei , Taiwan; 13.VII.1907, S. Matsumura leg.

Distributions. China (Anhui, Fujian, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Zhejiang), Taiwan (Tainan) ( Fig. 5 ).

Host plants. Pennisetum alopecuroides ( Yang, 1989) , Miscanthus floridulus ( Ding, 2006) .

Remarks. Ishihara (1949) transferred this species to the genus Euidella Puton. However, Yang (1989) moved this species to the genus Kakuna Matsumura , while Ding (2006) resisted the genus Toyoides with this species. The type material was not designated in the original description ( Matsumura, 1935) and in the present study, we designated the lectotype which is deposited in SEHU. The current type location is currently Guanziling (= Kanshirei) in Baihe District, Tainan, Taiwan.
