6. Dryopteris × fauriei (Holttum & Edwards) Li Bing Zhang, comb. nov.

Basionym:— Dryopsis × fauriei Holttum & Edwards (1986: 198).

Type : CHINA. Taiwan: Arisan Mts, alt. 2500 m, May 1914, Faurie 381 bis (holotype, P-00642759!) .

This is presumably a hybrid between D. apiciflora and D. maximowicziana (Holttum & Edwards, 1986: 199) and only known from the type locality. Interestingly, the latter hypothetical parent was not found in Taiwan but now is re-discovered there.
