Diagnosis. See Lobato-Vila et al. (2019: 226).
Distribution. USA: Illinois ( Walsh 1864).
Biology. Reared from tuberous twig galls of Callirhytis quercuspunctata (Basset, 1863) (= Cynips q. podagrae Walsh, 1864), probably on Q. velutina , the black oak ( Walsh 1864; Burks 1979).
Remarks. The type material of Synergus mendax was examined and the species was redescribed and illustrated by Lobato-Vila et al. (2019).
