Tohlezkus rufus (M. Sakai, 1980) : 85 (as Subulistomella rufa ).

Material studied. 1 ex., Japan, Nara Prefecture, Mt. Obakodake, near Nosegawa-mura, 1200 m, 25.03.2006, leg. P. Jałoszyński (cPJ) ; 2 exx., Japan, Ehime Prefecture, Saragamine , Toon-shi , 33°43'18.8"N 132°53'48.8"E, 100-year old deciduous mountain forest, 16.05.2018, leg. P. Jałoszyński (cPJ) ; 2 exx., Japan, Kyûshû , Saga-ken , Tara-chô , Mt. Hobashiradake , 600 m, FIT, 31.05– 08.06.2022, leg. M. Nishida (cRW) ; 1 ex., same data but 08–16.0.6.2022 (cRW) ; 1 ex., same data but 16– 23.06.2022 (cRW) ; 1 ex. same data but 23– 29.06.2022 (cRW) .

Remarks. Adults of this species show a characteristically reddish hue, with the head and pronotum slightly lighter than elytra ( Fig. 4 ). Tohlezkus rufus was originally described based on specimens collected on Shikoku (Ehime and Tokushima Prefectures), later recorded from Honshȗ (Aichi Prefecture) and Kyȗshȗ (Fukuoka, Miyazaki and Saga Prefectures) ( Hirano 2000; Imasaka et al. 2016, 2018; Ôyama 2021; Nishida 2022), and here we provide the first record from Nara Prefecture (Honshȗ).
