Figs. 22 View FIGURES 19 – 27. 19 – 27 , 99–101 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 .

Type locality. China, Yunnan province, Hengduan mts., Meili, 28°06ˏN 98°ˏ52E, 3700 m a.s.l..

Type material. Holotype ( NHMB), male, “[ China], Yunnan, Hengduan mts.-part, MEILI, 28°06ˏN 98°52ˏE, 3700 m, 10.–13.vii. 19996, Vít Kubáň leg. [white label, printed]”. Paratypes ( NHMB, NMPC), same label data, 12 males 5 females.

Description. Coloration ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 19 – 27. 19 – 27 ). Entirely ferrugineous to chestnut brown.

Male. Eyes large and strongly protruding, head across eyes slightly wider than pronotum, lateral sides of head behind eyes moderately concave, converging posteriorly. Antennae extend just beyond three quarters of the elytral length, filiform, antennomeres without visible impressions. Surface of head very finely imbricate-punctate, with sparse, fine, yellow semierect pubescence, matt. Pronotum ca as long as wide, slightly cordiform, anterior margin more or less concave, anterior corners rounded, lateral margins rather strongly sinuate, posterior corners almost sharp, protruding laterad, posterior margin convex. Surface of pronotum like that of head sculptured and pubescent, matt. Elytra very slightly dilated posteriorly, elytral venation only very slightly indicated. Surface of elytra very finely punctate basally, rest of elytra finely rugulose-lacunose, with sparse, fine, yellow semierect pubescence, matt, semilustrous basally. Aedeagus as in Figs. 99–101 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 .

Female. Eyes smaller than in male, head across eyes slightly to moderately narrower than pronotum. Antennae shorter, not reaching elytral midlength. Pronotum moderately wider than long. Last abdominal sternite very similar to that of S. jindrai ( Fig. 98 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 ).

Length (both sexes). 7.3–9.6 mm.

Differential diagnosis. Stenothemus kubani sp. nov. is very similar to S. yanmenensis sp. nov. (see below), from which it differs by paler coloration of the body, unicolorous antennae (cf. Figs. 22–23 View FIGURES 19 – 27. 19 – 27 ) and, especially, in the apically dilated parameres and ventral surface of divided portions of dorsal part of the aedeagus with shorter semirect hairs, situated only on the margins (cf. Figs. 100, 102 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 ).

Etymology. Patronymic, dedicated to its collector, Vítĕzslav Kubáň (NMPC).

Distribution. China: Yunnan province.
