Succulent, thorny tree, in thicket, grassy savannah, wooded savannah and open forest, often on slopes and hills.

C.N.: kisoma, mucuto (kb); cassoneira (pt); musongo (ub).

Uses: building, phytochemical.

Conservation: LC ( IUCN 2017)

This species was until recently considered as endemic to Angola.
