Material examined. CHINA: Tianjin: 1♂, Mt. Jiulong (40.15°N, 117.52°E), Ji County, 180 m, 10.VI.2004, coll. Houhun Li et al, genitalia slide no. LJM 04535 ; 1♂, Mt. Baxian (40.19°N, 117.55°E), Ji County, 270 m, 21.V.2009, coll. Bingbing Hu et al, genitalia slide no. LSH 16368 . Henan Province: 1♂, Huangshi (33.67°N, 111.63°E), Xixia County, Nanyang , 890 m, 18.VII.1998, coll. Houhun Li, genitalia slide no. LJM 04312 .

Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 8 ) wingspan 10.5̄12.0 mm. The male genitalia of S. magna ( Fig. 16 ) are characterized by the tegumen produced triangularly to a point at the top, the costa of the valva almost straight, and the cucullus triangular. It can be distinguished from its congeners by the absence of the median fascia on the forewing.

Distribution. China (Henan, Tianjin), Japan.
