Okeanomyces marinus View in CoL is an asexual fungus collected in Thailand (in Hyde et al. 2020a). This is the second species in the genus along with the type species O. cucullatus View in CoL . The asexual stage of O. cucullatus View in CoL is Periconia proli fi ca ( Pang et al. 2004). Okeanomyces marinus View in CoL is morphologically similar to P. proli fi ca and P. abyssa View in CoL but differs from P. proli fi ca in lacking hyaline erect conidiophores and from P. abyssa View in CoL in having smaller conidia (in Hyde et al. 2020a). In the same study, O. marinus View in CoL formed a monophyletic group with isolates of O. cucullatus View in CoL and P. proli fi ca based on a combined analysis of 18S and 28S rDNA.
