2.3.19 Trimorphomycetaceae View in CoL View at ENA

Trimorphomycetaceae View in CoL is a family in the order Tremellales View in CoL (Basidiomycota) and currently contains four genera: Carlosrosaea View in CoL , Saitozyma View in CoL , Sugitazyma and Trimorphomyces View in CoL , the type genus, and most are only known from their yeast states ( Liu et al. 2015). Torula View in CoL fl ava was introduced by Saito (1922) and proposed as a new genus Saitozyma View in CoL in Liu et al. (2015) with five species. Saitozyma podzolica View in CoL (syn. Cryptococcus podzolicus ) is a yeast reported from the marine environment. Hoondee et al. (2019) and Kunthiphun et al. (2019) have isolated S. podzolica View in CoL from sediment in mangroves of Thailand. The species is of interest as it is an oleaginous yeast yielding single cell oil and gluconic acid.
