Biology. The One-banded stink bug, P. hybneri , primarily prefers the plants of the family Fabaceae , and is a major pest of soybean and other leguminous crops in Asia and Africa (e.g., Cajanus cajan , Indigofera , Medicago , Phaseolus , Pueraria , Trifolium , Vigna ) (e.g., Miller 1931, Hoffmann 1932, Ahmad et al. 1974, Tayutivutikul & Kusigemati 1992, Bundy et al. 2018a, Salini 2020). In Mauritius, it was collected on Tephrosia sp. ( Mamet 1957). It has also been recorded from other plant families, but as is uncertain if it can develop on them, suggests these may be incidental associations (e.g., Ahmad et al. 1974, Tayutivutikul & Kusigemati 1992, Bundy et al. 2018a, Salini 2020). The immatures were described by Miller (1931). For additional information on its biology, see e.g. Miller (1931), Hoffmann (1932) and Bundy et al. (2018a).
Distribution. Comoros: Mayotte (new record), Madagascar ( Cachan 1952, as P. rubrofasciatus ), Mauritius ( Mamet 1957, as P. rubrofasciatus ). Africa: Angola ( Leston 1954, no exact locality), incl.
