Genus Striogyia Holloway, 1986 View in CoL
Striogyia Holloway, 1986 View in CoL . Malayan Nature Journal, 40 (1–2): 136. Type species: Striogyia snelleni Holloway, 1986 View in CoL ( Malaysia: Sarawak), by original designation.
Diagnosis. Members of the genus Striogyia are medium-sized moths; the ground color is from brown to dark brown. The forewing venation is typical of the Darna Walker, 1862 group, but the male antennae are always filiform rather than bipectinate as in Darna species. Most of their forewings have a distinct, oblique postmedial line running almost from the apex to the posterior margin. In the male genitalia, the uncus is rectangular or triangular; the gnathos is slender or absent; the transtilla is well developed, strongly sclerotized; the interior of the sacculus bears a setose papilla or a prominent spine. The eighth sternite is modified, which is sclerotized, distal margin concave, and densely covered with setae ( Holloway 1986).
