Sierwald, 1990: 25, figs. 16, 21.
Thaumasia annecta Bryant, 1948: 349 , pl. 2, fig. 18, female from Ennery , Haiti, 10.IX.1934, P. J. Darlington (MCZ) (examined). New synonymy.
Thaumasia decemguttata Mello-Leitão, 1945: 245 , fig. 28, two juveniles from Curuzú GoogleMaps , Cuatiá, Corrientes, Argentina [29°47’S, 58°03’W], M. Birabén (MLP 16440) (examined). New synonymy.
Newly established junior synonyms of Thaumasia velox . The epigynum of the female type specimen of T. annecta is identical to T. velox . The juvenile types of T. decemguttata present a wide lateral band formed by short white bristles on the lateral area of carapace and abdomen, as the specimens of T. velox ( Fig. 6).
Diagnosis. The males of T. velox resemble those of T. scoparia in the shape of the median apophysis ( Figs 144, 145), but can be distinguished by the short and ventrally curved tip of the ental branch of RTA ( Figs 58, 59) and also by the lamellar base of EnB ( Fig. 59). The females of T. velox resemble those of T. caxiuana sp. nov. ( Fig. 92), T. senilis ( Fig. 26), T. caracarai sp. nov. ( Fig. 119) by the general shape of middle field of epigynum ( Fig. 60), but can be distinguished by the slightly excavated lateral portion of the middle field ( Fig. 60) and by the rounded and thickned border of the copulatory duct 2 ( Fig. 61) and by the short and rounded head of spermathecae ( Fig. 62).
