(101) Notoalona globulosa ( Daday, 1898) View in CoL

Indian records. Andaman & Nicobar Islands — Venkataraman (1992d, 2000a); Bihar —Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. (2001); Goa— Rane (2008); Kerala — Rajapaksa & Fernando (1987c), Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988), Subhash Babu & Thomas (2007); Orissa — Rajapaksa & Fernando (1987c); Madhya Pradesh — Rajapaksa & Fernando (1987c); Maharashtra — Rane (2002); Manipur —Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. (2009a); Meghalaya —Sharma S. (2010a); Rajasthan —Sharma R. et al. (2011); Tamil Nadu — Rajapaksa & Fernando (1987a), Michael & Sharma (1988); Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2002, 2009); West Bengal —Sharma B.K. (1978), Mandal (1980), Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988), Venkataraman & Nandi (1997), Khan (2003); General record— Fernando & Kanduru (1984), Sharma B.K. & Michael (1987), Murugan et al. (1998), Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003).

Remarks. Valid taxon ( Rajapaksa & Fernando 1987c) described from Sri Lanka ( Daday 1898). Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2002, 2009) erroneously represented in their checklist both Notoalona globulosa (Daday) and Indialona globulosa (Daday) as two separate taxa, which are two different names indicating the same taxon (see Van Damme et al. 2010). Appears in Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988) as Indialona , hence the correct genus name Notoalona did not appear in most Indian literature.

Distribution. Widely distributed in the Oriental and Afrotropical zones ( Rajapaksa & Fernando 1987c), yet similar forms are found in the Neotropical zone (Elías-Gutiérrrez et al. 2006, 2008).

Oxyurella lindbergi Brehm, 1953

Type locality. " Diese fand sich in einer Probe aus Nandalour nördlich von Karikal und einer Probe aus einer Rizière ( Reisfeld ) von Mahè ", Tamil Nadu and Kerala, India ( Brehm 1953) .

Indian records. Tamil Nadu and Kerala — Brehm (1953).

Comments: Junior synonym of O. singalensis ( Smirnov 1971) .

Oxyurella longicaudis Birge, 1910

Indian records. Rajasthan —Sharma V. et al. (2012).

Remarks. O. longicaudis was described from unknown locality in South America ( Birge 1910). Ths taxon is widely distributed in the Neotropics ( Elías-Gutiérrez et al. 2006, 2008; Van Damme & Dumont 2010). Its presence in India is very dubious.

Oxyurella sangramsagari Rane, 1984

Type locality. "Sangramsagar tank behind Medical College, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh ", India ( Rane 1984b). Indian records. Madhya Pradesh — Rane (1984b); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003). Remarks. Junior synonym of O. singalensis (Sharma B.K. & Sharma S. 1990) .
