Remarks. Valid species described from Denmark ( Müller 1867a).
Distribution. Widely distributed in the Holarctic, Oriental zone, Africa, Australia ( Smirnov et al. 1995).

Indian records. Rajasthan —Sharma R et al. (2011).
Remarks. Doubtful record. Ceriodaphnia lacustris was described from Wisconsin and Michigan, U.S.A. ( Birge 1893). It is very unusual to find a North American taxon in India.
