up to 20 cm, usually pubescent. Capitula (15—)17—25 mm wide; outer involucral bracts shorter than the inner, mucronate. Corolla pink, red or white. 2n = 18. Coastal salt-marshes, cliffs and pastures. • N. Europe, eastwards to N. W. Russia.
