Amauropelta resinifera (Desv.) Pic.Serm., Webbia View in CoL 31: 251. 1977.
= Thelypteris resinifera (Desv.) Proctor, Bull. Inst. View in CoL Jamaica, Sci. Ser. 5: 63. 1953.
Range:— Florida; Greater Antilles; Mexico to western Colombia and western Ecuador; Bolivia (CO, LP).
Ecology:— Rare and localized, two collections known from Bolivia, much more common in Mexico, Mesoamerica, and the Antilles; on rocks in and along streams and rivers in humid forests; to 300–350 m.
Notes: —Differs from Amauropelta opposita by its ascending and inaequilateral pinnae with the basiscopic segments shorter than the acroscopic ones. The only other Bolivian species of Amauropelta with similar pinna shape and position, A. cinerea , has fewer (2–4 vs. to 12) reduced proximal pinna pairs, longer petioles, and occurs at higher elevations.
