Amauropelta oligocarpa (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Pic.Serm., Webbia View in CoL 31: 251. 1977.
= Dryopteris stenophylla Rosenst., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 5: 233. 1908.
= Dryopteris rivulariformis Rosenst., Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 6: 316. 1909.
= Thelypteris oligocarpa (Humb. & Bonpl. ex Willd.) Ching, Bull. Fan Mem. Inst. Biol., Bot. View in CoL 10: 253. 1941.
Range:— Greater Antilles; mountains from Mexico to Venezuela and Bolivia (BE, CH, CO, LP, SC, TA), northwestern Argentina; southern Brazil.
Ecology:— Very common, nearly 200 collections seen from Bolivia; in humid forests, especially in open ravines, secondary vegetation, road banks, and plantations; 800–2450 m.
Note s:—Variable; specimens lacking long costal hairs have been called Thelypteris rivulariformis (Rosenst.) C.F. Reed , but there seems to be a cline from specimens with few to many long hairs, and we do not recognize that species here.
