Range:— Antilles; mountains from southern Mexico to Guyana and along Andes to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC).
Ecology:— Very common, over 100 collections seen from Bolivia; terrestrial in humid forests, on slopes and ravines, often in wet roadside ditches; 400–1750(–2600) m.
Notes: —One or more bud(s) are present in axil(s) of distal pinnae.
