Range: —Central Peru to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology:— Rare, known from a single collection in Bolivia; terrestrial in humid forests; 2550 m. Notes:— Thelypteris atrorubens (Kuhn) R.M.Tryon , from southern Peru, may occur in Bolivia. It differs from A. furva by its thinner blade texture and longer pinnae (to 18 cm vs. 3–8 cm long) that are proximally slightly narrowed (vs. widest at bases).
