Range: —Andes from Ecuador to Bolivia (LP).

Ecology:— Rare; terrestrial in humid forests; 2400–3050 m.

Notes:— Differs from much more common Amauropelta brausei , with which it may be conspecific, by the stiff hairs adaxially on the costules and veins, more decidedly clathrate costal scales, and somewhat fewer but longer costal hairs abaxially.
