Range:— Endemic to Bolivia ( BE) ; known only from the type collection.
Ecology:— Rare; terrestrial in ravines and along roadsides in humid forests; 700 m.
Notes:— Most closely related to G. jamesonii , which may also have a few free proximal pinna pairs; G. pilonensis differs in having less divided, pinnatifid to pinnatisect blades with only a single pair of free or almost free proximal pinnae.
