Range:— Antilles; Guianas; Amazonian Ecuador and Brazil to Bolivia (BE, LP, SC).
Ecology:— Common; terrestrial in humid seasonally flooded as well as non-inundated forests; 150–1050 m.
Notes:— Differs from Goniopteris biformata by shorter, mostly simple costal hairs and more gradually reduced blade apices. Bud(s) are usually present in axil(s) of distal pinnae; sori are indusiate.
