Range:— Greater Antilles; southern Mexico to Panama; Andes from Colombia to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC).
Ecology:— Fairly common; terrestrial in humid forests, often along streams; 2200–3050 m.
Notes:— Hairs are clustered in groups of mostly 4–10, with few simple hairs present; segments at 75–90° to costae. See A. canadasii , closely related, for additional comments.
