= Thelypteris tamandarei (Rosenst.) View in CoL Ponce, Novon 8(3): 277. 1998.
Range:— Southern Brazil; Bolivia.
Ecology:— Local and uncommon; terrestrial in natural and disturbed humid forests, and in citrus plantations; 1700–2300 m.
Notes: —Differs from Amauropelta brausei in having creeping rhizomes, petiole bases with no to very few, ovate, obtuse scales, obtuse pinna segments, and (sub)opposite pinnae. Perhaps most closely related to A. nubicola , from which it differs by having scattered scales on the costae (especially at the costular bases), as well as some hairs.
