Etymology: The species is named after the Ginkgo tree, as its expanded lower lip resembles the leaf of a ginkgo in its shape.

Diagnosis: The species can be recognized by its expanded and fleshy tentacular membrane bearing only short, simple tentacles, the greatly enlarged foliose lower lip with a mid-anterior notch, as well as the fleshy prominent third segment with its longitudinal folds. Also, the pygidium bears two prominent lateral papillae.
