[ Eupithecia ] ultimaria f. opistographata Dietze, 1906 , Deutsche Entomologische Zeitung, Iris 19 (2): 66. Holotype ♂ (designated by E. Schütze, 1961; coll. K. Dietze in MNHU, examined), [ China]: Aksu.
This small xerophilous species, also belonging to the “ ultimaria ” group, was described as a form of E. ultimaria Boisduval by Dietze. The type specimens were studied by Schütze (1961), who described and illustrated the male and female genitalia and elevated it to a bona species. The species occurs from Algeria in the west to Mongolia and China in the east. It is very common in the desert areas of Central Asia. Mongolia: Umnugovi aimag.
