Eupithecia recens Dietze, 1904 , Deutsche Entomologische Zeitung, Iris [ 1903] 16 ( 2): 349, taf. 3, fig. 26. Syntype (s) 3 (coll. K. Dietze in MNHU, examined), Central Asia [ China]: Kuku-Noor (near lake); [ Russia]: Sidimi (synonymised in Mironov & Galsworthy, 2013).

Eupithecia extrinseca Vojnits & de Laever, 1978, Acta zoologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae 24 ( 1–2): 247, fig. 24. Holotype ♀ ( ZFMK, examined), [ China]: South Shensi, Tapaishan in Tsinling, 3000 m (synonymised in Mironov & Galsworthy, 2013).

Misidentification: Eupithecia repentina: sensu Mironov, 1990 (for Mongolia) ( nec Vojnits & de Laever, 1978).

This species has long been known as E. recens Dietze. The male and female genitalia of this species were described and illustrated by de Laever ( 1960) under this name. However a study by the authors of the worn type specimen of E. uliata and its genitalia in the collection of MNHU, Berlin ( Fig. 18) reveals that it belongs to the same species. The name E. uliata has precedence. Mongolia (aimags): Khuvsgul, Tuv.
