Material examined. RUSSIA: Karachay-Cherkess Republic: Teberdinskiy Nature Reserve, 1300 m a.s.l., 6.v.1964, Gorodkov (1 ♂, ZIN); same locality, Kurort, 23.v.1964, Gorodkov (4 ♂, ZIN).
Distribution. Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Britain, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia (north-western and central European part, Karachay-Cherkessia), Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland,.
Remarks. The species is recorded from the Caucasus for the first time. Platypalpus luteicornis is known only from the mountain forests of Central Caucasus and is active in May.
