Type host. Acnistus cauliflorus Schott. (Solanaceae) , presently referred as Iochroma arborescens (L.) J.M.H. ( Solanaceae ) ( Flora do Brasil 2020).

Type locality. Ouro Preto , Minas Gerais, Brazil .

Additional localities in Brazil. Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro; Piracicaba, São Paulo ( Flechtmann & Berti-Filho 1994).

Relationship to host plant. Mites form conspicuous blisters in the leaves ( Keifer 1953). Galls measuring from 1-5 mm in diameter are seen on both sides of the leaf, but are more prominent on the lower leaf surface. Heavily infested plants were observed in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, where plants presented leaves completely covered by galls ( Flechtmann & Berti-Filho 1994).

Type host plant status in Brazil. Native shrub or tree, not endemic, occurring in Mata Atlântica biomes ( Flora do Brasil 2020) .

Relationship to host plant. Protogynes, deutogynes and males are vagrants on leaves in early spring; host plants were not sampled in other seasons ( Flechtmann & Santana 2007).

Remarks. Only known from the type host/locality.

Relationship to host plant. Mites were found on buds, causing no apparent symptoms ( Navia & Flechtmann 2002).

Remarks. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plant status in Brazil. Native palm tree, not endemic, in Cerrado and Mata Atlântica biomes in all regions ( Vianna & Campos-Rocha 2020) .

Remarks. Known only from the type host/locality.

Type host plant status in Brazil. Native tree, not endemic, widely distributed in Amazônia , Caatinga , Cerrado , Mata Atlântica and Pantanal biomes ( Pinto et al. 2020) .
