Basionym: Orchis brevicornis var. fallax De Not., Repert. Fl. Ligust. : 385 (1844).

Heterotypic synonyms: Orchis ×subpatens E.G.Camus View in CoL in E. G.Camus & A. A.Camus, Iconogr. Orchid. Europe: 271 (1928). Type:— ITALY. Genua , Bergon (not found) .
Orchis ×kelleri Hunz. ex G.Keller & Soó, Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. Sonderbeih. A 2: 166 (1932), nom. inval., pro syn., as ‘kellerii’; Orchis ×clandestina Hautz., Ann. Naturhist. Mus. Wien 81: 40 (1978).
Type:— ITALY. Liguria: Lavagna-Santa Giulia , 1 May 1974, L . Hautzinger s.n. (holotype: W, not seen; isotypes: K-000796424!, SZU) .
Distribution:— North-western Italy, Liguria.
Note:— This natural hybrid ( Fig. 1a View FIGURE 1 ) is morphologically intermediate between O. provincialis and O. patens subsp. brevicornis .
