Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Belgium (Wesmael 1838 as Exothecus ruficeps ; Yu et al. 2012), Hungary ( Papp 2008; Yu et al. 2012), Serbia ( Belokobylskij and Žikić 2009; Yu et al. 2012), Canada ( Spencer and Whitfield 1999; Shaw 2002 under the subfamily Rogadinae; Yu et al. 2012; Sharanowski et al. 2014), USA ( Gate et al. 2002; Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. Leucoptera scitella (Zeller) ( Lepidoptera : Lyonetiidae ) ( Santoro and Arzone 1983). In California, it is reared from Phyllonorycter sp. ( Lepidoptera : Gracillariidae ) on Corylus cornuta ( Gate et al. 2002) .
