Distribution outside Iran. Widely distributed and frequent in the Palaearctic region ( Papp 2003b). Azerbaijan, China, Germany, Japan, Kazakhstan, Russia, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Bulgaria, Macedonia ( Papp 2010 as Noserus similis ; Yu et al. 2012), Croatia ( Papp 2004b; Papp 2007 as Hormius moniliatus var. similis ; Papp 2010 as Noserus similis ; Yu et al. 2012), Czech Republic (Lozan et al. 2010 under the subfamily Exothecinae ; Yu et al. 2012), Greece ( Papp 2007 as Hormius moniliatus var. similis ; Yu et al. 2012), Hungary ( Szépligeti 1896 as Noserus similis ; Szépligeti 1904 as Hormia similis ; Papp 2006 as Noserus similis ; Yu et al. 2012), Korea ( Papp 2003b; Yu et al. 2012), Mongolia ( Papp 2009b as Noserus similis ; Yu et al. 2012), Montenegro ( Belokobylskij and Žikić 2009 under the subfamily Exothecinae ; Yu et al. 2012).
