Distribution in Iran. Alborz, Guilan, Qazvin, Tehran ( Farahani et al. 2014b), Golestan ( Ghahari et al. 2010b), Khuzestan (Samin et al. 2015).
Distribution outside Iran. Widely distributed in the Palaearctic region ( Papp 2005). Algeria (van Achterberg 1983 as Gnaptodon georginae ; Yu et al. 2012), Bulgaria, China, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Switzerland, Ukraine ( Yu et al. 2012), Mongolia ( Papp 2005, 2009b; Yu et al. 2012), Russia ( Belokobylskij 1998; Yu et al. 2012).
Host records. Parasites of Nepticulidae in trees and shrubs (van Achterberg 1983): Stigmella hybnerella (Hübner) on Crataegus monogyna , S. malella (Stainton) on Malus sylvestri , S. ruficapitella (Haworth) on Quercus and S. tityrella (Stainton) on fagus sylvatica.
