Distribution in Iran. Guilan, Mazandaran ( Farahani et al. 2014b).
Distribution outside Iran. Austria, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, UK (van Achterberg 1983 as Gnaptodon pumilio ; Yu et al. 2012), Greece (van Achterberg 1983 Gnaptodon pumilio ; Papp 2007; Yu et al. 2012).
Host records. This species is reared from Nepticulidae (Lepidoptera) in trees: In UK reported from Stigmella luteella (Stainton) on Betula verrucosa Ehrhart , and from S. betulicola (Stainton) on Betula sp., and from S. salicis (Stainton) on Salix caprea and from S. ulmivora (Fologne) on Ulmus procera . In Norway it is reported from S. confusella (Wood & Walsingham) on Betula sp. and from S. magdalenae (Kliemesch) and S. sorbi (Stainton) on Sorbus aucuparia . In Netherlands, reported from S. continuella (Stainton) and from S. lapponica (Wocke) on Betula sp. and from S. malella (Stainton) and S. pomella (Vaughan) on Malus domestica and from S. ruficapitellagroup on Quercus rober . In Hungary, reported from S. tiliae (Frey) on Tilia sp. and from S. rhamnella (Herrisch- Schaeffer) on Rhamnus catharticus . In Greece, from S. carpinella (Heinemann) on Ostrya carpinifolia . In Ireland, from Stigmella sp. on Sorbus aucuparia . In France, reported from S. Ectoedemia caradjai (Hering) (van Achterberg 1983).
