Distribution in Iran. Qazvin ( Farahani et al. 2013b; Sedighi and Madjdzadeh 2015).
Distribution outside Iran. Frequent to common in the western Palaearctic region ( Papp 2003a). Belgium ( Wesmael 1835 as Leiophron armatus ), Greece ( Papp 1990a, 2003a, 2007), Israel (Papp 2011–2012), Macedonia ( Papp 2010), Serbia ( Žikić et al. 2000), Turkey ( Yilmaz et al. 2010; Güçlü and Özbek 2011; Koldaş et al. 2013), Russia, Italy ( Tobias 1986), Scotland, Ireland ( Broad and Shaw 2009).
Host records. In Turkey has been reported from Sitona hispidula (Fabricius) , S. humeralis Stephens , S. regensteinensis Herbst , S. sulcifrons (Thunberg) (Coloeptera: Curculionidae ) ( Koldaş et al. 2007; Güçlü and Özbek 2011), Stigmella aceris (Frey) , S. obliquella (Heinemann) , S. torminalis (Wood) ( Lepidoptera : Nepticulidae ) ( Koldaş et al. 2007). It was also reported from Sitona humeralis Stephens ( Coleoptera : Curculionidae ) ( Tobias 1986).
