44. Pedicularis scullyana Prain ex Maxim. ( Maximowicz 1888: 529) View in CoL .
Protologue citation:—“ Sikkim: Tongri ad Pey-kiang-la (herb. Calcutt.!)”.
Type:— NEPAL. s.d., J. Scully 288 (neotype K000739173!, designated here) ; isoneotypes CAL0000019075!, CAL0000019076!
Notes:— Pedicularis scullyana was described by Maximowicz (1888) based on the specimens from Dzongri, Sikkim, India housed at CAL. Prain (1889) mentioned that the type specimens from Dzongri, Sikkim was collected by King’s collector but presently no original material are extant at CAL and also not at BM, DD, E, K, P and PH. Thus the specimen at K (K000739173) collected by J. Scully from Nepal, adjacent to the type locality, is chosen here as the neotype and it agrees well with the protologue.
