12. Pedicularis fragilis Prain ex Maxim. ( Maximowicz 1888: 582) View in CoL .
Protologue citation:—“ Himalaya : montibus Khasia (G. Mann! in hb. Calc.)”.
Type:— INDIA. Meghalaya: Khasia, s.d., G. Mann 348 (lectotype K000739041!, designated here) ; isolectotype CAL0000018931!
Notes:— Maximowicz (1888) formally described Pedicularis fragilis based on the specimens collected from Khasia Mountain by G. Mann at CAL. Presently, only one herbarium sheet of P. fragilis collected from Khasia Mountain by G. Mann is extant at CAL, but this is a poorly preserved fragmented specimen. In contrast, the K specimen (K000739041), also a part of CAL herbarium, bearing notes “Comm. Herb. Hort. Bot. Calcutt. recd. 3/1890” (i.e., it was received by CAL in 1890, after the description) is complete with well develop leaves and flowers and is therefore designated here as the lectotype.
