Type:— INDIA. Assam: Upper Assam, s.d., Griffith s.n. (lectotype K000708941!, designated here) ; isolectotypes K000708939!, P02985336!
Notes:— Bentham (1846) described Pedicularis flagellaris based on the specimens collected by Griffith from Upper Assam, India. Three specimens collected from Upper Assam, India by Griffith were traced (K000708939, K000708941 and P02985336). The better preserved specimen K000708941 from herbarium Benthamianum, is designated here as the lectotype. The date 1845 mentioned on the sheet K000708941, is the date of inclusion of this specimen in the herbarium Benthamianum, not the year of collection.
