Eremias nova Rastegar-Pouyani & Rastegar-Pouyani, 2005

HOLOTYPE. A series of numbers given in the original description ( RUZM 96 T-104T), none specified for the holotype.

TYPE LOCALITY. 21 km SW of Hamadan, Hamadan Prov., Iran .

DISTRIBUTION. Endemic to Iran.

DISTRIBUTION IN IRAN. Fig. 101 View FIGURES 98–103. 98 . Known only from the type locality .

HABITAT. Stony hills and mountainous steppes with vegetation consisting mainly of Astragalus , Euphorbia , and Gondelium.

REMARKS. We follow Sindaco & Jeremčenko (2008) in using the spelling ‘ nova’ instead of ‘ novo ’ as it was originally described since the gender of Eremias is feminine.
