Calophya melanocephala Li, 1997: 363 View in CoL , syn. nov.

Distribution in Korea. CN, GB, GG, GN, GW, JN ( Kwon 1983; Kwon & Kwon 2020) (SNU).

Host plant. Adults were collected on Rhus chinensis Mill. and Toxicodendron trichocarpum (Miq.) Kuntze (Anacardiaceae) which are both likely hosts.

Comments. Kwon (1983) described the species based on a single female specimen without host indication. Later, Miyatake (1992) provided a description of the male from Japan. Calophya verticornis Kwon, 1983 and C. melanocephala Li, 1997 appear morphologically identical, suggesting they are conspecific. Therefore, we synonymise the latter with the former.
