MycoBank: MB 853106
Basionym: Cystoderma contusifolium Pegler, Kew View in CoL Bulletin Additional Series 9: 410. 1983.
Synonym: Cystodermella contusifolia (Pegler) Harmaja (2002:46) View in CoL .
Holotype:—LESSER ANTILLES. Martinique, Morne des Olives , St. Joseph, on forest floor, 13 September 1977, J.P. Fiard 946a (K(M)140618; ITS sequence: GenBank/ UNITE: PP575894 / UDB039791 ; MB 10019173 ).
Illustration:— Pegler (1983:411, figure 81 A–D).
Notes:— Cystolepiota contusifolia is characterised by a rather small (8–12 mm wide) pale ochraceous pileus, inamyloid, ellipsoid basidiospores (3–4 × 1.5–2.5 μm, Q = 1.5), and utriform to lecythiform cheilocystidia. Pegler (1983) noticed that it is closely approaching Cystoderma luteohemisphaericum Dennis (now Cystolepiota ; see Saar and Laessøe 2008). J.P. Fiard and A.E. Franco-Molano (in their notes with the type specimen) also suggested that it might be a member of Cystolepiota . Capelari and Asai (2009) reported this species from São Paulo state, Brazil (specimen in SP, not studied). The second collection from Brazil is deposited in UEC (not studied; https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/3761321313).
