Juraheterosmylus Wang et al., 2010 View in CoL

( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 )

Type species. Juraheterosmylus antiquatus Wang et al., 2010: 46 (by original designation).

Diagnosis. Antenna at least half FW length; wing weakly mottled infuscate; wings narrowly ovoid, posterior margin straight distally; FW costal area relatively narrow, subcostal veinlets relatively widely spaced and simple proximally, and more closely spaced and sometimes forked distally; RP with rather dense (13–14) slightly sinuous branches; RP1 originating relatively far from origin of RP; 2–3 well defined gradate series in both wings, with few irregular crossveins basal to these; FW M fork at, or distal to, origin of RP1; MA and MP with few branches distally (mostly dichotomous); in both wings CuA and CuP with similar number of pectinate branches.

Comments. Wang et al. (2010) described this genus with three species based on a series of relatively complete compression fossils from Middle Jurassic-aged deposits in China. This genus has clear similarities to Heterosmylus and Jurosmylus , but some distinct branching patterns in the forewing, most notably in the higher number of welldefined gradate series crossveins and the distal branching patterns of the radial and medial veins.
