Description of Marivirga tractuosa HMG View in CoL 3261
Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and orange after incubation for 3 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose acidification, arginine dihydrolase, and urease. D-Maltose is utilized as a sole carbon source; while but D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, citrate, and phenyl-acetate are not. Strain HMG3261 (= NIBRBAC000509548) was isolated from a seawater sample at Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
