Description of Parasphingopyxis lamellibrachiae HMG 3435

Cells are Gram-stain-negative, non-flagellated, and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and yellow after incubation for 3 days on MA at 25°C. In the API 20NE system, positive for cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, urease, glucose fermentation, gelatin hydrolysis, esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, indole production, and arginine dihydrolase. Adipic acid is utilized as a sole carbon source; while arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, malic acid, glucose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3435 (= NIBRBAC000509555) was isolated from a seawater sample at Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Republic of Korea.
