Description of Mycolicibacterium arabiense HMG 3056
Cells are gram-stain-positive and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and orange-pink colored after incubation for 5 days on R2 A at 25° C. In the API 20NE system, positive for urease; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase. L-Arabinose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, and malic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-glucose, D-mannose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain HMG3056 (= NIBRBAC000509536) was isolated from a moss sample at Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea .
