In the API 20NE system, positive for urease; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase. L-Arabinose, D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, and malic acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-glucose, D-mannose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not.
